PLANT THINKING
Plants are dismally overlooked members of our world. They are part of our everyday – helping us to breathe clean air, providing medicinal remedies and sustenance to animals. Once we acknowledge the importance of plant life, we can begin to consider the existence of higher plant thinking, and even a plant consciousness. Is it possible that plants and animals are more similar – scientifically and metaphysically – than we previously have been willing to consider?

With this project, I hope to take the audience on a journey, arriving at a place where plant consciousness can be considered. Using brightly colored images of a human interacting with plant life, the viewer can contemplate these concepts, and begin to understand plants as legitimate beings. By opening oneself to plants and their consciousness, the viewer can enter a space of possibility where the human-self stops and the plant-self begins. Now the viewer can start to imagine a vegetal reality, one where humans can function differently by tapping into our vegetal-selves – one that allows us to move more deliberately through our lives.
